About Course
SAP Basis is the technical foundation of any SAP system—serving as middleware between the operating system, database, and application layers—ensuring smooth operations and system integrity. This 40‑hour intensive training equips participants to install, configure, maintain, secure, monitor, and optimize SAP landscapes.
After an introductory overview of ERP and three-tier architecture, learners gain hands-on experience installing SAP systems (ABAP and Java stacks) on supported databases. They configure system profiles, parameters, and performance settings. SAP GUI setup, client management, and robust authorization models help build real-world system administration capabilities .
Participants learn the SAP transport system, mastering change control via TMS, client copies/refresh strategies, and versioning, which are key in multi-system landscapes. Job scheduling modules include background job creation and log analysis using SAP tools and CCMS .
Database administration covers backup and recovery practices, recovery strategies, and archiving. Monitoring and performance optimization resources like ST traces allow troubleshooting bottlenecks effectively . Security training focuses on password policies, SNC, SSO, and profile security—guarding against vulnerabilities.
OSS notes, patch management (SPAM/SAINT), and kernel upgrades prepare students for change management. System refresh and client copy labs simulate siloed production and quality setups, ensuring readiness for system migrations. Additionally, integration exercises with RFCs, RFC communications, IDocs, and web services provide a comprehensive technical profile . The course culminates in upgrade planning and HA/DR strategy sessions.
