About Course
This 40‑hour Oracle Hyperion Planning training equips finance and technical professionals with end-to-end expertise in planning, budgeting, and forecasting using the Oracle EPM suite. Beginning with system architecture and installation, participants gain competency in deploying Planning servers, configuring databases, and integrating Essbase and Smart View. Core content includes modeling robust metadata—dimensions with hierarchies, aliases, and dense/sparse configurations—then seamlessly loading data and metadata through flat files and Data Management tools.
Learners build interactive forms and ad-hoc grids, customize data entry via composite forms and SmartLists, and automate calculations with Calculation Manager rules. Scenarios, versions, forecasting, and copy-version functionalities are explored fully. Advanced topics include building intercompany elimination processes and configuring shared services-based security, user/group permissions, and LCM-driven application lifecycle management.
Participants conclude with Smart View and Financial Reporting Studio reporting modules, enabling real-time dashboards and narrative insights. A capstone project simulates the complete Planning cycle: metadata, data load, rule execution, intercompany balancing, and report delivery. Aligned with Oracle’s 1Z0‑533 certification, this training combines labs, case studies, and expert mentoring to produce practitioners ready to implement and maintain Planning solutions within enterprise environments.

- Licensing essentials, creating Planning applications (schemas, plan types, time settings)
Module 3: Dimensions & Metadata Modeling (6 hrs)
- Create and manage dimensions: Account, Entity, Scenario, Version, Custom Attributes
- Define dense/sparse dimensions, hierarchies, aliases
Module 4: Metadata & Data Loading (4 hrs)
- Load metadata via .xls/.csv and outline loader utility
- Ingest data through forms, spreadsheets, FDMEE/Data Management
Module 5: Web Forms & Ad-Hoc Grids (6 hrs)
- Design interactive forms: composite forms, SmartLists, grid properties
- Use Smart View for ad‑hoc analysis and data entry
Module 6: Business Rules & Calculations (4 hrs)
- Create Calculation Manager rules: allocations, spreading, custom logic
- Automate processes and runtime prompts
Module 7: Forecasting, Versions & Scenarios (4 hrs)
- Configure rolling forecasts, scenario/version handling, copy-version functionality
Module 8: Intercompany & Eliminations (4 hrs)
