About Course
Collibra’s Data Governance Training is a comprehensive 40‑hour program that empowers professionals to build, manage, and optimize data governance frameworks using the Collibra platform. The course begins with foundational concepts—understanding the importance of governance, metadata management, and the role of data stewards. It then dives deep into Collibra’s platform, teaching participants how to configure assets, domains, and catalogs, and implement quality assurance processes.
The curriculum covers advanced topics such as policy definition, BPMN workflow automation, and the use of Collibra APIs to integrate with key data sources like MySQL, AWS, and Snowflake. With a strong emphasis on practical application, lab exercises and real-world case studies ensure learners can visualize data lineage, enforce compliance, and design governance workflows that align with business needs.
The training also includes modules on dashboarding, stewardship collaboration, and certification guidance. Overview of data governance, its importance, challenges, and how Collibra supports enterprise-wide frameworks. Collibra Platform Fundamentals (5 hrs)
Architecture and core components: Data Governance Center, Catalog, Policy Manager, Helpdesk; UI navigation, users, groups, roles Metadata Management & Cataloging (6 hrs)
Creating and managing data assets, domains, communities; building business glossaries; classifying data and documenting lineage. Data Stewardship & Quality (6 hrs)
Role of data stewards; stewardship workflows, quality rules, issue resolution, compliance enforcement. Policy & Workflow Automation (7 hrs)
Defining policies; BPMN workflow design; automating governance processes and approvals. Integration & APIs (5 hrs)
