Course Overview
About Course
With the explosive rise in data volumes and complexity, Big Data Testing has become critical for ensuring reliable, performant, and compliant data-driven systems. This 40-hour training equips data engineers, QA professionals, and architects with end-to-end testing expertise across ingestion, processing, and analytics layers.
The program begins with foundational knowledge: big data characteristics, Hadoop architecture, and ecosystem familiarity. Learners map test strategies tailored for big data—defining SLAs, data quality KPIs, and strategic test cases emphasizing volume, variety, velocity, and veracity. Real-world labs reinforce these concepts—from source-target validation using SQL, Hive scripts, and MapReduce jobs, to testing on Pig, Spark, and ingestion flows via Sqoop/Flume frameworks.
A substantial portion focuses on performance tuning: participants simulate full-scale data loads, benchmark job latency, and optimize configurations to ensure cluster stability under stress. They also learn to maintain data integrity through profiling, anomaly detection routines, and model validation—crucial for trustworthy analytics.
Security and compliance modules teach encryption, data masking, metadata auditing, and lineage logging to meet privacy standards like GDPR. Regression and integration testing ensure that updates to pipelines don’t introduce faults, and robust test suites are automated and embedded in CI pipelines like Jenkins, using PySpark and data version control (DVC) practices.
The training explores advanced analytics pipelines—validating ML models, detecting data drift, and ensuring reproducibility through cross-validation techniques. A final capstone enables teams to execute a full lifecycle test scenario—from ingestion through performance measurement, anomaly detection, to automated pipeline deployment.
Interactive instruction, templates, and lab exercises make this training highly practical. Upon completion, participants will be proficient in designing, executing, and automating big data tests, ready for roles as QA engineers, data validation specialists, or data pipeline stewards, ensuring organizations can trust their actionable insights.
