Course Overview
About Course
The 40‑Hour Apps DBA Training equips participants with expert knowledge to install, manage, support, and optimize Oracle E‑Business Suite environments (11i / R12.x). It begins with foundational understanding of ERP concepts and Oracle EBS architecture across client, application, and database tiers—clearly distinguishing an Apps DBA’s responsibilities from a Core DBA’s
Learners next tackle installation of single- and multi-node EBS instances, orchestrating hardware and prerequisites on OEL/RHEL, followed by in-depth exploration of APPL_TOP, COMMON_TOP, INST_TOP directories, and context and DBC file structures . Mastery of service management, script execution, and component-specific health checks ensures operational fluency .
The course delves into AD utilities such as adadmin, adrelink, adident, and examines AutoConfig workflows—highlighting management of configurations, context templates, and patch impacts Patching modules cover offline patching and introduce AD Online Patching to maintain uptime in 12.2+ environments
Concurrent Manager and workflow topics emphasize scheduling, dependencies, and debugging, while cloning labs teach cold and hot clones with post-clone customization . Security modules cover FNDCPASS, profile options, auditing, and printer setups, enabling robust administration
Advanced troubleshooting focuses on deciphering errors across Apache, JVM, forms, and concurrency layers, along with tuning utilities like cache and JVM heap configurations . Supplementary WebLogic instruction readies learners for handling application-tier complexities
The capstone wraps up with a full cycle of deployment: installation, patching, cloning, tuning, backup, and demo presentation—reinforcing core competencies. Graduates will emerge primed for roles as Oracle Apps DBAs, equipped to oversee EBS environments end-to-end with practical, job-ready skills and confidence.
