Course Overview
About Course
SAP Production Planning (PP) is a central module in SAP ERP tailored for manufacturing industries, bridging demand forecasting with shop floor execution. This 40‑hour training equips participants to master the complete PP process—from setting up master data to generating production orders, managing capacity, and integrating with other ERP modules.
Starting with organizational structure and factory calendar setup, learners configure critical master data—material master, BOMs (including variant and alternative BOMs), work centers, routings, and production versions—laying the groundwork for accurate planning and cost tracking
Demand management and SOP modules introduce MTS/MTO strategies, creating planned independent requirements. The heart of the training centers on MRP: learners learn to parameterize planning runs (MD01, MD02), analyze exception messages, and interpret extensive planning lists
Production orders are covered end-to-end—from creation and scheduling to confirmation, goods movements, backflushing, and financial settlement. Hands-on capacity planning labs include CRP, finite scheduling, and detailed heuristics, preparing participants for realistic shop-floor constraints
Advanced topics include repetitive manufacturing, variant configuration, classification profiles, batch management, and lot traceability. Cross-functional integration showcases seamless flow into MM, SD, QM and FI/CO, reinforcing enterprise-level data coherence
Reporting modules enable proficiency in planning tables, MRP lists, stock/requirements lists, and dashboards, supporting analytical and decision-making tasks. A capstone project guides participants through a full PP cycle simulation—from master data setup to order execution and reporting—culminating in peer review and certification readiness for SAP TS421/TS422
Ideal for aspiring SAP PP consultants, supply chain analysts, and manufacturing process engineers, this training delivers practical, module-aligned skills, certification preparation, and real-world scenario experience—preparing learners for effective roles in production planning and manufacturing execution.
