This 40‑hour SAS Training delivers comprehensive skills spanning data access, programming, analytics, and reporting. Beginning with foundational knowledge in Base SAS, SAS Studio, and Viya, participants build core competencies in reading diverse data sources, performing DATA-step transformations, and using PROC steps (SORT, MEANS, FREQ, SQL) to generate insights.
Advanced topics include macro programming for dynamic and reusable code, complex data manipulation using arrays and loops, and SQL procedures for joining and summarizing data. Participants explore statistical tasks—including regression, correlations, and data summarization—alongside crafting professional reports via ODS and SAS Graph.
The course also introduces modern SAS Viya capabilities, integrating cloud-native analytics and visual exploration. Performance tuning modules enhance coding efficiency and resource management skills. A capstone project synthesizes learning: ingesting real-world data, applying macros, performing analyses, generating graphical outputs, and preparing polished reports.
Aligned with SAS Base Certification (A00‑231), the program includes mock exams and domain reviews to ensure exam readiness. Course Syllabus
Module 1: SAS Overview & Basics (4 hrs)
- Understand SAS ecosystem—Base SAS, SAS Studio, Enterprise Guide, Viya
- Setup SAS studio environment and write your first SAS program.
Module 2: Data Access & Management (6 hrs)
- Read SAS datasets, Excel/CSV, raw files, and assign libraries using LIBNAME
- Manipulate data via DATA step: variables, formats, conditional logic, subsetting.
Module 3: Procedural Programming & Proc Steps (6 hrs)
- Master PROC steps: PROC SORT, MEANS, FREQ, UNIVARIATE, SQL in SAS
- Formatting outputs and generating reports.
Module 4: Advanced Data Manipulation (4 hrs)
- Use arrays, loops, functions; merge and concatenate datasets using DATA step and PROC SQL
- Handle dates, missing values, and variable transformations.
Module 5: Macro Programming & Automation (4 hrs)
- Introduce macro variables and macro routines; dynamic code generation for reusable scripts.
Module 6: Statistical and Analytical Procedures (4 hrs)
- Explore PROC REG, CORR, TABULATE, REPORT; basic analytics for data insights.
Module 7: SQL & Advanced Procedures (4 hrs)
- Deep dive into PROC SQL queries, joins, subqueries, CASE expressions; use PROC TRANSPOSE, SUMMARY, MEANS.
Module 8: Reporting & Output Delivery (4 hrs)
- Generate polished outputs via ODS to HTML, PDF, Excel; design via SAS Graph and SAS/GRAPH options.
Module 9: SAS Viya & Visual Analytics (4 hrs)
- Explore SAS Viya architecture and SAS Studio/Visual Analytics integration .
Module 10: Performance Tuning & Administration (4 hrs)
- Optimize SAS code, indexing, memory; introduction to SAS 9 administration and Viya management
Module 11: Capstone Project & Certification Prep (4 hrs)
