Course Overview
About Course
Rust is a high-performance, memory-safe systems programming language acclaimed for its ability to deliver speed and safety without garbage collection. This 40-hour Rust training program is designed to take learners from absolute beginner to proficient Rust developer, covering key language features and practical development skills.
We start with essential setup: installing Rust via rustup, configuring Cargo and IDE tools, and writing basic programs that demonstrate Rust’s compilation model and error messages . Early modules focus on Rust’s ownership system—a cornerstone of its memory safety philosophy—including borrowing rules and lifetimes, preventing issues common in C/C++ environments
As learners progress, they explore compound data types—structs, enums, pattern matching—along with robust error handling via Result and panic!, enabling reliable code design. Generics, traits, and smart pointers are then introduced to build flexible, reusable code with proper ownership semantics
The concurrency module introduces threads, channels, and async programming, utilizing Rust’s safety guarantees to write concurrent code confidently . Project structure, including modules, crates, and dependency management using Cargo, prepares students for real-world codebases.
Advanced topics cover macros and low-level programming with unsafe blocks and FFI, allowing interaction with C. The course also teaches practice in testing, linting, formatting, and performance optimization using built-in tooling.
A capstone project brings all topics together—students build a complete Rust application (CLI or web service), featuring modular structure, async processing, error handling, testing, and deployment readiness.
Throughout the course, students work with live examples and labs, supported by expert instructors who provide feedback and debugging support. With one-year access to learning resources and career guidance including mock interviews and portfolio development, participants leave ready to take on roles in systems development, backend engineering, and blockchain—armed with Rust skills in high demand.
