Course Overview
About Course
PostgreSQL is a robust, open-source relational database known for its advanced features—ACID compliance, MVCC, extensibility, and comprehensive SQL support . This 40-hour training is tailored for DBAs, developers, and data professionals who want to master PostgreSQL’s full stack.
The course starts with architecture and install basics, advancing through SQL proficiency, schema design, and indexing strategies. Learners will explore query optimization using explain plans and innovative visual tools like Jovis . Security is emphasized through role-based permissions, encryption, and authentication integration.
Participants gain experience in backup and recovery, point-in-time recovery (PITR), and high availability through streaming and logical replication. Real-life drills simulate failover scenarios. Extensions like PostGIS, foreign data wrappers, PL/pgSQL, and ECPG arms professionals for advanced development and integration
Maintenance modules cover vacuuming, reindexing, logging, and performance tuning. The training culminates in a capstone project, where participants build, secure, replicate, and monitor a production-grade PostgreSQL deployment with observability tools.
By the end, attendees can confidently architect and operate scalable, secure, and reliable PostgreSQL systems—bridging theory and practical application for real-world environments.
