Course Overview
About Course
Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) is a high-performance data integration platform designed for enterprise-scale ELT (Extract-Load-Transform) and real-time data synchronization. This 40‑hour training delivers an immersive journey—from architecture fundamentals to real-world implementation—empowering participants to architect and deploy ODI-based integration solutions.
The course begins with the core architecture, exploring ODI’s E‑LT approach, repositories (master and work), Studio interfaces, Agents, Load Plans, Scenarios, and runtime monitoring Learners configure physical and logical topology settings, define data servers, schemas, and contexts, then reverse-engineer source systems to populate metadata models.
A key focus is Knowledge Modules (KMs)—code templates driving ODI’s declarative transformation logic. Students gain hands-on experience configuring LKMs for data loading, IKMs for integration, CKMs for data validation, SKMs for service exposure, and JKM for journalizing and Change Data Capture (CDC)
Mapping and package design sessions guide learners through graphical integration flows, including advanced constructs like Slowly Changing Dimensions, flows, variables, and errors, orchestrated via Packages and scheduled with Load Plans. The course delves into data quality, journaling, and real-time integration patterns.
Advanced integration covers connecting flat files, JMS queues, web services, and Big Data sources; customization includes PL/SQL procedures, ODI variables, and data service exposure . Participants also master journalizing and CDC to support incremental loading using JKMs.
The training emphasizes monitoring and troubleshooting, with tools like Operator and Oracle Enterprise Manager to manage sessions, logs, and optimize performance. Deployment topics include scenario generation, load planning, version control, and security governance.
A capstone project blends all learned components: reverse-engineering, mapping, journalizing, package orchestration, and deployment—to deliver a polished, peer-reviewed integration solution. This ensures participants emerge not only certified-ready but fully capable of designing, developing, and managing ODI solutions in enterprise environments. Roles supported include ETL Developer, ODI Architect, Data Integration Specialist, and Middleware Consultant.
