Course Overview

About Course

This comprehensive 40-hour Information Security Training equips participants with the essential knowledge and skills to defend modern digital environments. It begins with a robust foundation in the core pillars—confidentiality, integrity, availability—alongside regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS. Students learn structured risk assessment techniques and analyze high-profile breaches, enabling them to think like attackers and risk managers.

Human factors are addressed through realistic phishing and social engineering simulations, while lessons on physical security and insider threats underscore the importance of environmental and procedural safeguards. The training then transitions to technical domains—endpoint protection, encryption, and data safeguarding policies—supported by labs deploying antivirus, EDR solutions, and disk encryption.

Participants next explore network defenses via firewall configuration, intrusion detection systems, network segmentation, and secure architecture design. Through hands-on exercises, they learn to craft and enforce layered security. In parallel, advanced Identity and Access Management (IAM) approaches are taught to control user privileges and implement multi-factor authentication frameworks.

The program emphasizes continuous defense strategies: vulnerability scanning, patch management, and secure baselining are practiced in network and system hardening labs. Incident Response and digital forensics form a central module, where learners engage in tabletop exercises and simulated response scenarios, mastering evidence acquisition and chain-of-custody protocols. They also experience penetration testing basics to proactively identify and exploit weaknesses.

Rounding out the curriculum, students are introduced to cutting-edge areas like cloud security, Internet of Things (IoT), AI-driven threats, and zero-trust architecture. The capstone project challenges teams to integrate lessons from across the course—conducting a simulated attack, responding to it, forensically analyzing the incident, and recommending mitigation strategies—mirroring real-world workflows.

Throughout, the program is rich in hands-on labs, interactive assessments, and capstone-driven collaboration, mapping closely to recognized frameworks and certifications such as CISSP and CompTIA Security+. Graduates emerge with practical experience and confidence to safeguard information, manage incidents, and architect secure systems in today’s complex cyber landscape.
