About Course
Go is a statically typed, compiled language designed at Google to be simple, efficient, and scalable—especially suited for modern backend and concurrent systems. This 40‑hour Go training equips developers to build production-ready applications with Go’s powerful concurrency model and robust tooling.
Participants begin by configuring the Go environment (GOPATH, go mod, IDE) and writing foundational code to understand structure, types, and tools. They proceed to learn data handling with arrays, slices, maps, structs, and JSON, gaining practical experience through templating and structured data manipulation.
The training then explores first-class functions, methods, defer/panic patterns, and embraces Go’s interface-based design for flexible, maintainable components. Emphasis on concurrency involves hands-on exposure to goroutines, channels, select, sync primitives, and race condition debugging—pivotal for writing performant systems.
Next, students structure production-level projects using packages and modules, integrate testing and benchmarking (go test, bench), and manage dependencies. I/O operations, error-handling strategies, and string parsing via regex further broaden core competencies.
Network programming is covered through net/http, enabling learners to implement REST APIs and service integrations—foundational for microservices architectures. Advanced topics include performance tuning and concurrency best practices, ensuring learners are prepared for scalable, efficient code in real-world scenarios.
The program culminates in a capstone project—a feature-rich Go application showcasing everything from concurrency to HTTP services, packaged and ready to deploy. With live coding, debugging support, and practical examples, participants build a portfolio artifact.

Course Syllabus
Module 1: Environment Setup & Language Basics (3 hrs)
- Install Go, configure GOPATH, use VS Code or GoLand IDE.
- Write “Hello, World!”, understand Go tooling (go run, go build, modules).
Module 2: Data Types, Variables & Control Flow (5 hrs)
- Work with built-in types: ints, floats, bools, strings, constants.
- Implement control structures: if, switch, for, including range loops.
Module 3: Composite Types (Arrays, Slices, Maps, Structs) (5 hrs)
- Deep dive into collections: arrays vs slices, maps, and struct types.
- Hands-on with JSON/text templates.
Module 4: Functions, Methods & Interfaces (5 hrs)
- Define functions (multiple returns, variadic, closures, defer, panic/recover).
- Implement methods, pointer receivers, embed structs, leverage interfaces.
Module 5: Concurrency & Goroutines (5 hrs)
- Introduce goroutines, channels (buffered/unbuffered), select, WaitGroups.
- Manage race conditions with mutexes and the race detector.
Module 6: Packages, Modules & Tooling (4 hrs)
- Structure projects with packages, go mod, import handling, blank imports.
- Unit testing (testing), table-driven tests, benchmarking.
Module 7: File I/O, Error Handling & Regex (4 hrs)
- Perform file and directory manipulation, handle errors idiomatically, use panic/recover.
- Parse strings with regexp.
Module 8: Networking & Web Services (4 hrs)
- Build HTTP servers with net/http, handlers, routing.
- Consume and produce JSON APIs.
Module 9: Advanced Concurrency & Performance (4 hrs)
- Dive into sync primitives, concurrency patterns, profiling, memory optimization.
Module 10: Capstone Project & Review (5 hrs)
- Build a multi-component application: data ingestion, REST APIs, concurrency, tests, build pipeline.
